Newsletter time! If you’d like to see the archive, go here, or sign up to get these in your email inbox. Some overall updates:

  • Wow, it’s been a while! Essentially: I got sick during my residency in Guadalajara and fell behind on anything that wasn’t immediately drawing comics. Back to monthly newsletters, hopefully.
  • I haven’t streamed since last year- I do miss it, but I want to re-examine what I personally get out of streaming and how to make it sustainable other than “wow look at my process”, y’know?
  • I have a patron Discord that I’m trying to pull some activity into! If you’re interested in talking in real-time with other perverts about comics, the $2 tier on Patreon/Substar is where it’s at. Or if you ask me super nicely via email. :^)

COMIC & ART UPDATES

WEDLOCKED

Wedlocked is starting to get into some of the nitty gritty of the relationship drama- why did Iago bail? Why can’t Daz let it go? How does Willoughby feel about all this??? It’s only chapter two and we’re getting messy already.

ULTRAVIOLENTS

UV is hitting 300 public pages this upcoming week! Pretty good for only three years online, I gotta say. Sincerely: thank you for reading! I started UV because I wanted to make something specifically for me and more people like it than I would’ve ever thought. I was going to give it a year and then wrap it up if things went badly, but that obviously isn’t the case. I am hoping to see if I can move to three pages a week by the end of the year, but we’ll see…

The website got a facelift earlier this year! I’ve implemented the long-waiting translation switcher too. You can now read in Russian! And soon in Spanish and Japanese, once I get those files back.

Relatedly: UV is now banned in Russia, apparently– if you came here from the acomicsru mirror, that no longer exists. I’ll have to print out the document I was sent with the RKN’s stamp on it and frame it or something. Corny and maybe not a crazy accomplishment, but still darkly funny to me nonetheless. What a world.

And a reminder! There is a TopWebComics voting page for UV. TWC is a very old school way of getting more eyeballs on a webcomic (voting pushes a comic up in the rankings), but it’s still somewhat reliable. Vote today to push UV up in the ranks!

OTHER COMIC NEWS

I have two new listings in the store!

Low on shelf space? Want something a little more unusual? You can now get the first five chapters of UV on USB art cards! These were supposed to ship in March but there was damage at the port, so they’re being reprinted. Get em fresh off the proverbial griddle!

Another new shop drop: BOOKPLATES! They all fit in the books I sell… And maybe other books too.

Also: I am in the process of ordering more Transfixed copies- it may take a few weeks, but they’ll be back in stock.

EVENTS & APPEARANCES

My art is at the Seattle Erotic Arts Fest again this year! The usual spread of comics and two big aluminum prints will be available. You can use the code SeeMeAtSEAF to get 10% off your ticket.

I also have comics in the Nib & Ink Festival– the shop is available for the entire month. I’ll also be running two panels, one of which is tomorrow! See here and here for more details on each.

There will also be a new Sickos Selection coming soon… I heard rumblings of May 15th but you didn’t hear that from me. First time digital debut for two of my titles!

RECS & LINKS

  • Best Wishes to All is a movie I put on as a whim and really loved. (I’ve moved from watching youtube videos while working to movies because I can’t slack off as much. ADHD brain magic.)
  • kosmicdream’s (FFAK, Nasty Red Dogs) new webcomic Religion of Toy has me checking the RSS feed reader to see when it updates constantly.
  • cryskir’s Ragdoll has also been a fun read. I admire the gall of posting only double page spreads in an era of mobile reading being prioritized.
  • landeg’s Silver & Iron is a really fun take on the classic vampire/werewolf teamup story. Also: LOVE how it looks.
  • I’ve been REALLY excited to see Saleha Chowdhury’s new webcomic The Necromaner’s Spawn develop. I hadn’t heard of them before they applied to Cartoonists United but I’ve been obsessed ever since. Gorgeous stuff.

That’s it for now! Back to regular monthly updates. Thanks for sticking around.

Go in violence,
Nero
