It’s AUGUST!! We did it, gang. (I say this like I have any real concept of the passage these days. As far as I can tell, it’s the 77th month of 2020.)
I haven’t had as much time as I’d like for drawing recently, but I have gotten to fiddle with a lot of coding projects as of late at least. There are unfortunately many projects that were started late last year/early this year where my thought process was “this is for Later Nero to figure out!” and well. Later Nero speaking, I am going to fight my past self. (And between starting this newsletter and now, I did get invited to a Halloween art show…! Time to get to work.)
Semi-relatedly: I now have a tag for free comic-related digital tools I’ve made– webring code, tag stats counter, little ‘toys’ like that. I’ve got a bunch of half-finished ones I need to upload, like my ‘nut button’, which a button for pornographers that you can put on your website so people can click it any time they nut to your work. Then you have data! Or the very ADHD-specific reminder program that I built in python in two hours to resemble old menus from Creatures 2. I am very serious person.

Not enough outside sex scenes in comics actually utilize the grand beauty of the outdoors (aka hedge mazes). Almost at the end of this particular chapter too, then we’ll be going on a short break until I can announce some Interesting News later this year… Wink wonk.

ULTRAVIOLENTS
Updates on the subscriber end of things continue apace! The beginning of chapter six is a real filthy one. Those dog men are looking at him very closely…
Public updates start again on August 13th with three pages and the cover! And… Maybe some kind of special event… We shall see if I can get things together in time!

Filthy Figments is running a MEMBERSHIP DRIVE to help push for more subscribers this year! As one of the oldest comic porn sites on the internet (and one I work with!) I wanted to give them a shoutout just in case anyone here hasn’t signed up yet.

The long running spec bio series Almost Real is collecting the first five editions AND putting out vol 6 all in the same crowdfund! Not my usual output, but I did some really cool flying spiders in vol 2 that I still think are pretty sick. Their stretch goals have a bunch of artist bonuses, including for us in vols 1-5, so I’d be remiss to NOT promote this, haha. Also my partner did a very good video for it.
EVENTS & APPEARANCES
Are you in the Los Angeles area or plan to be at LA Con V/Worldcon this year? So am I!! I have a massively stacked roster of panels, so I’ll be fully on yapping-mode for several days straight. Only two of the panels (my table talk and the sommelier panel) will be streamed- I’ll be doing my best to try and do audio recordings on my end, but we’ll see. I’m not sure if the lack of recording is due to panelists not wanting to be recorded or if it’s a technical limitation. If it’s the latter, I can handle it. If it isn’t… well, I’ll try and do a writeup, I suppose. :V

- Fully obsessed with the funky colors and compositions (made of pre-existing animations composited together!) in this lyric vid for the ending theme of the latest Dorohedoro. With the cut info text?? Mwah. love it.
