Newsletter time! If you’d like to see the archive, check here. Quick alerts:
- I’ll be streaming in about 30 minutes over on Piczel! I’ve been liking it a lot more than Picarto- less latency, more reliable, generally less weird fussy bullshit tacked on top. Hopefully it stays that way. I… I don’t need another self hosting project, please. Anyway! Come hang out while I ink Wedlocked pages with friends.
- Relatedly: Patrons! I’ve been thinking about supplementing the weekly-ish streams with some Discord ones as well. Thoughts? Concerns? Maybe monthly longer ones that go longer than the usual public ones?
- Sorry if updates were weirdly sporadic this month- I had health issues combined with some person life things crop up that took me away from drawing. Things have been chaotic this year! I would prefer it if 2025 was calmer!!
- I’m an aquarium guy now, I suppose. All of the plecos have almost doubled in size since I took that photo. Also have been very fascinated by long-fin green dragon plecos, blind cave tetras, and by every species of bichir. Love a weird little tube guy that lives in a big box that smells like petrichor!
COMIC & ART UPDATES
WEDLOCKED
Finally getting to more of the saucy stuff on both Patreon and on Slipshine! Trans men crossdressing is so rarely drawn that I was really interested to see how these pages were/will be received. I think people are worried about it feeling like degendering or detransitioning that it never gets explored, despite crossdressing and feminization being a VERY popular kink. Regardless: I am amassing such a big folder of lacy reference material.
ULTRAVIOLENTS
Ultraviolents continues apace- chapter three ends this week on Patreon and at the end of December on the public site! I ended up doing writing revisions after the last newsletter to tighten up the end of this scene, so it’ll conclude sooner than previously noted.
Patreon subscribers– cast q&as are now open! Ask the cast of Ultraviolents anything from their burger order to their nastiest kinks. These will start posting on the Patreon next week and then publicly in January,
Reminder: there is a TopWebComics voting page! TWC is a very old school way of getting more eyeballs on a webcomic (voting pushes a comic up in the rankings), but it’s still somewhat reliable. I’ve added the previously patron-only Halloween doodle as this month’s incentive!
OTHER COMIC NEWS
Beasts of Burden on the Table of God is now running on Filthy Figments! “Disgraced bioengineer Dr Mallow has a new hobby- building the perfect, eternally horny, slutty boyfriend from stolen work scraps. But there’s only so many times you can recreate the same blueprint before things start getting… weird.” Five pages a month!
I have a new item up in the shop- a tote bag! Everyone will know how big your brain is with this one, for sure. There’s a version with an interior pocket up for preorder too. I’ve also added a flat rate shipping rate for international folks- ideally that should help combat the incorrect auto calculated rates. (And sorry, Canada, I can’t ship anything until the strike is over!)
EVENTS & APPEARANCES
KOBOLD ART MARKET
Seattle folks! I’ll have a table in the outside area of the Kobold Art Market this Thursday at Outsider Comics in Fremont! 2024 is a trial run to see if this kind of event is wanted (I think it is, tbh!); all local creators, all 18+ tables. Swing by, pick up some books, say hi! I’ll even draw you a random hunk if you ask nicely.
SPICE RACK COMICS
This is kind of an appearance, I suppose. If you’ve been looking for a new way to keep an eye out for adult webcomics, may I introduce you to: Spice Rack! We’re a brand new webring of erotica and NSFW webcomic veterans aiming to foster more connections between others in our specific slice of the industry. Our first project is a banner exchange on everyone’s websites, so keep an eye out for those when reading Ultraviolents! More info to come…!
#MeetTheWebcomic
The hosts over at the Screen Tones podcast held a webcomics event on bluesky that I made some banners for- you already know these, but hey, go peruse the tag if you’re looking for new webcomics to read!
COMIC ARTS LA
I’ll be at Comic Arts LA on December 14th-15th at table 54A! I’ll also be partially managing the Cartoonist Cooperative’s table to my left at 54B. If you’re in the area, say hi! based on the table map, it’s going to be a real banger.
RECS & LINKS
- Adults Need Comics Education More Than Kids, by fellow co-op founder and overall comics powerhouse Reimena Yee.
- Sunshine Type Event, an extremely good breakbeat album by MinaSheep. I’ve been listening to this a lot recently!
- Bicycle Boy author Jackarais has a new webcomic out called The Dancing Bones– I really love how they’re tackling a b&w comic (not biased I swear) this time. Good textures all around. It’s a horror story about two middle-aged lesbians, researching an apocalyptic dancing plague.
- Matchmaker author Cam Marshall has a new(er, I just found out about it) webcomic called Flying Saucer Video! Bisexual disaster comedy in a video rental shop, pre-pandemic.
- I’ve just started reading Pia and The Little Things– very euro-comic styled webcomic, which is rare! It is, indeed, about Pia, and various little things.
That’s it for now! Thanks for sticking around.
See you next month.
